Job Profile Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager for a local government office to work with bus operations and on-board systems teams. Will work directly helping to manage ongoing project support for our team, including tracking projects where installation of intelligent transportation systems will be installed on transit buses. The candidate should be able to multitask and work with various teams. They should also have heavy proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The candidate shouldn't be afraid to spend at least 50% of the day in the bus yard once the installations begin. Additionally, they should be okay with flexing their work schedule to work overnight during the major installation push period.
Minimum Education:
- Preferred - Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Required - High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- At least 2 years of verifiable project management experience
- Heavy proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project
- Preference given to candidates with PMP, Agile, or other related project management certifications
- Familiarity with technical project implementation (3+ years)
- Able to track project progress start to finish
- Able to work on multiple projects at the same time, with some in various stages
- Experience with transportation projects
- Experience working with intelligent transit systems
- Knowledge of procurement trends and preparing projects for procurement phase
- Experience with AssetWorks or other asset management systems
- Previous experience with transit agencies
Responsibilities
- Provide support to project managers and team members, ensuring all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics for project-related events.
- Assist with proofreading documents to ensure clarity and accuracy before distribution.
- Support financial tracking
- Implement time management strategies to prioritize tasks effectively and meet project deadlines.
- Act as an assistant to senior project managers when required, providing additional support as needed.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Able to flex work schedule to work overnight during the major installation push period (8pm to 4am)
